DeveloperLabs.email maintains a zero-tolerance policy for spam. We require all customers to adhere strictly to all applicable anti-spam laws, including the CAN-SPAM Act (US), CASL (Canada), GDPR (EU), and other international regulations.

This policy outlines our requirements for proper email sending practices and the consequences for violations.

2. Prohibited Content & Practices

The following content and practices are strictly prohibited when using DeveloperLabs.email services:

  • Purchased or rented lists: Sending to email addresses obtained from third-party sources without explicit consent
  • Scraped addresses: Emails collected from websites, directories, or other sources without permission
  • Deceptive subject lines: Misleading or false information in email subject lines
  • Fake headers: Altering email headers to disguise the origin of messages
  • Illegal content: Emails containing unlawful, abusive, obscene, or fraudulent material
  • Phishing attempts: Messages designed to trick recipients into revealing sensitive information
  • Malware distribution: Sending viruses, worms, or other malicious software

3. Requirements for Legitimate Email

All emails sent through DeveloperLabs.email must comply with these requirements:

A. Consent

You must have verifiable proof of consent for all recipients, which must be either:

  • Explicit opt-in: Recipient actively subscribed through a signup form, checkbox, or similar method
  • Transactional relationship: Existing customer relationship with email required for service delivery

B. Identification

Every email must clearly identify:

  • Your company name and physical address
  • A valid reply-to email address
  • Accurate "From" name and email address

C. Unsubscribe Mechanism

All commercial emails must include:

  • A visible, working unsubscribe link
  • Process to honor unsubscribe requests within 10 business days
  • Clear instructions for opting out

D. Content Accuracy

Email content must be:

  • Truthful and not misleading
  • Relevant to the recipient's relationship with you
  • Properly labeled if containing adult content

4. Compliance Monitoring

DeveloperLabs.email actively monitors sending patterns and content for compliance with this policy:

  • We review high-volume senders and new accounts
  • Automated systems scan for known spam characteristics
  • We investigate all spam complaints (FBL reports)
  • Blacklist monitoring and IP reputation tracking

5. Violation Consequences

Violations of this policy may result in:

  1. Warning: First-time minor infractions may receive a warning with education
  2. Sending restrictions: Temporary limits on sending volume or features
  3. Account suspension: Immediate suspension for serious violations
  4. Termination: Permanent account closure for repeat offenders
  5. Fines: Charging for any blacklisting or reputation damage caused
  6. Legal action: For severe violations or intentional spamming

We determine appropriate consequences based on the severity and intent of the violation.

6. Best Practices

To maintain good sending practices, we recommend:

  • Use double opt-in for all subscriptions
  • Regularly clean your email lists (remove inactive addresses)
  • Segment your lists for targeted, relevant content
  • Monitor your bounce and complaint rates
  • Provide value in every communication
  • Keep permission records for at least 3 years

7. Reporting Spam

If you believe you've received spam from a DeveloperLabs.email customer:

  1. Use the unsubscribe link in the email
  2. Forward the message to [email protected]
  3. Include full headers in your report

We investigate all abuse reports promptly and take appropriate action.
